Calbridge HomesCustomer Service - A New Low

I have had business representatives inadvertently give me incorrect information. I’ve seen people out and out lie to their clients. Calbridge Homes representatives have told my wife and I a range of tales from little white lies to what one of their own contractors said:

“a line of absolute bullsh**.”

One thing that truly drives me up the wall is when a so-called "expert" blatantly lies to me. It's worse when that person is called out on the lie but tries to keep the lie going with bluster and more lies. In fact, that's when things go from bad to ugly. To me, when I call somebody out on something I know to be untrue and that somebody keeps trying to defend the lie without using facts, then I feel that person thinks I'm an idiot.

 

So  that's what this section deals with. When Calbridge representatives have seemingly blatantly lied to me but can't admit they've been caught in a lie.

Let me tell you how Calbridge justified wanting to charge me $500 not to drill a hole in my very expensive granite counter top.   See  "$500 Not to Drill A Hole." 

Read about how, when I asked for a piece of paper I was told I should have received, resulted in the president of Calbridge Homes telling me to never contact them again except through a lawyer. That story is on the page entitled, "Never Talk To Us Again!"

I will talk about the several apparently false statements that the Construction and Customer Care Manager told me during my meeting with him in my house. One of the statements was even characterized by one of their own contractors as being "a line of absolute bullsh**! See Fourth Time's the Charm... Not!

I think the epitome of the falsehoods and misinformation given me by Calbridge Homes has been with respect to the problems I and my neighbours have had with our siding. The  Construction and Customer Care Manager, after not even looking at my siding, told me that the reason some of the siding blew off my house, and the houses of the other Calbridge built homes, was because our houses were not protected from the wind by other houses. This manager laid the blame on me because, as a homebuyer, he said I should have realized I was buying a house in a windy area! I sent him a link to graphs of wind data showing that winds in our area have not approached speeds he himself told me that siding should be able to withstand . He didn't seem to care. Even after recommendations from every siding company I spoke with and the Siding Contractors Association of Alberta (SCAA) to perform an inspection because they suspected poor installation, Calbridge still refused to even look at it despite obvious visible flaws.  Visit The Siding Debacle for the full story.
